Two arrested for mobile phone theft in Kotturpuram in Chennai

The Kotturpuram police have arrested two persons in Kotturpuram in Chennai for snatching someone’s mobile phone. The buyer of the stolen mobile phone has also been arrested, police said.

Following a complaint filed by Ganesan, a resident of Kotturpuram, who alleged that two persons on a two-wheeler had snatched his mobile phone while he was walking along Kotturpuram’s Ponniamman Koil Street last week, police arrested V. Rahul, 19, from Triplicane, and S. Nitish Kumar, 18, from Thiruvanmiyur.

After questioning the suspect, police identified the buyer of the stolen phone as H. Mubarak Basha, 22, of Korukkupet. Investigations revealed that they were involved in a series of phone snatching cases in areas like Thiruvanmiyur and Velachery.
