These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are done hitting the road. On August 2, Aerosmith shared a lengthy videoSocial Media Statement Aerosmith have announced that they have made the “heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision as a band of brothers to retire from touring.” But why are they ending their Peace Out farewell tour prematurely? Aerosmith’s statement says that it has become clear that it is “not possible” for frontman Steven Tyler to make a “full recovery” from a previous vocal injury, despite months of effort and the support of a medical team. Last September, the band announced that they were postponing their Peace Out tour dates because Tyler had “fractured his larynx.” The rescheduled stops, which were scheduled to run from mid-September to February 2025, have now been canceled. According to Aerosmith’s statement, refunds will be automatically issued through Ticketmaster, while fans who used third-party resale sites should contact their point of purchase.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who couldn’t wait to hit the road with us one last time. We are grateful to our expert team, our incredible crew, and the thousands of talented people who made our historic tours possible,” the statement added. “A final thank you to you, the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Keep dreaming. You made our dreams come true.”
