A person of interest interviewed in Liam Payne's death case: 'It was all normal'

It’s been almost a month since the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne. The 31-year-old singer and songwriter died in Buenos Aires, Argentina after falling from a third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel. Authorities are investigating the situation and so far three people have been charged in connection with it. One person of interest is now speaking out on the matter, sharing their story about what allegedly happened between them and Payne. In doing so, they dispute any misconduct on their part.

An autopsy revealed that Liam Payne, who reportedly battled substance abuse, had crack cocaine, benzodiazepine and pink cocaine in his system when he died on October 16. The three suspects in the case are accused of supplying the deceased singer with drugs. The charges against the trio were revealed a few days ago. One of them is reportedly an unnamed friend of the late singer and the others are a hotel worker and a drug dealer.

Braian Nahuel Paiz is one of the people and he recently spoke to the Argentinian news channel Telefe notifications. During his interview, Paiz denied the idea that he gave drugs to the “Strip That Down” artist. The 24-year-old waiter went on to say that he encountered him weeks before the pop star’s death when he visited the restaurant where he worked in Puerto Madero. Paiz claims (via We weekly) that the 1D alum was “already under the influence of drugs and not actually eating anything” at the establishment at the time.

Nevertheless, Braian Nahuel Paiz also said that he and Liam Payne “exchanged details and saw each other later that evening” and that “it was all normal.” One of their alleged encounters took place at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel on October 13. When Paiz shared his claim and details of their interactions, he said the following:

I never medicated Liam. … We did drugs together, but I never brought drugs to him or took any money.

All this time one hotel guests also remembered what they had seen on the night of Payne’s death. An American tourist staying at CasaSur Palermo at the time said they had “several encounters” with the star and that he caused “disruptions” in the lobby, which led to him being escorted back to his room. They also alleged that Payne “destroyed his laptop” in the lobby.

In the wake of the “Bedroom Floor” singer’s death, a number of tributes to him have been shared. A emotional message came from Simon Cowellthat One Direction discovered years ago. Cowell reflected warmly on watching the artist come into his own and shared how “heartbroken” he was at the news of his passing. Meanwhile, pop singer Shawn Mendes interrupted a concert in memory of his fellow singer.

As it stands, the three individuals involved in the case have been specifically charged with abandonment resulting in death, and supplying and facilitating narcotics. With the investigation still ongoing, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Braian Nahuel Paiz and the others allegedly involved in the case.
