Caitlin Clark is doing the late night circuit… sort of.

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year will sit down with longtime Late Show host David Letterman, Monday, December 2, at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana – about an hour northeast of Indianapolis – for the latest installment of Letterman’s Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshop Series.

The series was founded by the university in 2008 and has been on display high-profile guests such as Oprah WinfreyMSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe and filmmaker Spike Jonze, among others. Originally from Indianapolis, Letterman is a Ball State alum, and was known as a huge Indianapolis sports fan during his time on television (he is particularly fond of former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning).

Clark, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Idiot, rewrote the WNBA rookie record book last season after a record-setting career at Iowa, where she led the Hawk eyes to back-to-back Final Fours and national championship appearances. At 22, she is one of the most popular athletes in America. Her presence in the WNBA this year helped the league set numerous viewership and attendance records.

Tickets for the event – which are free – will be available beginning Saturday, Nov. 16, with priority given to Ball State students first. Students can pick up a maximum of two tickets and each student must be able to show a valid student card upon entry. Ticket distribution to staff and faculty will begin on Sunday, and members of the public will be able to obtain tickets in person from Monday, November 18, while supplies last. Each person is limited to two tickets.

The event will be held in the Emens Auditorium on Ball State’s campus. Emens has a capacity of just over 3,300 seats.
