Sunny and warm start to the weekend; Some showers on Sunday

The start of the weekend will offer a taste of late spring-like weather, with highs rising into the upper 70s to low 80s in the afternoon. Things are looking great for ECU’s homecoming later this afternoon as kickoff will see more sun than clouds. Later this evening and overnight, our cold front could bring a few showers to the area and will continue into the early morning hours of Sunday. Although not much rain is forecast, most of the day will be pleasant to enjoy, but there will be fresher and cooler conditions, with some afternoon clouds. Highs peak in the 60s and lows reach the 40s.

The cooler weather will start the week with sunny skies and then slowly warm up over the course of the week as the highs start to feel more like a mixed bag of spring and fall. Temperatures will return to the mid-70s and drop into the low 80s, while overnight lows will hold steady in the mid-50s. We’ll have a chance of a few isolated pop-up showers on the coast from early to mid-week, but most inland areas will remain dry through the end of the month and into November.
