Is it time for the Miami Heat to strongly consider trading Bam Adebayo?

The Miami Heat should seriously consider trading Bam Adebayo.

He has started this season as poorly as you can imagine, after winning a gold medal and entering with such high expectations.

Adebayo has expressed in the past that he feels disrespected for not winning Defensive Player of the Year honors. He is also seen as someone who needs to average 25 points to take his game to the next level.

That hasn’t happened this season, and he underperformed again in Sunday night’s 95-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished with nine points on 3-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, seven assists and three blocks.

While some may say he’s stuffed the stat sheet, Adebayo needs to average 25 and 12 on a consistent basis for the Heat to be successful among the elite. What makes it worse is that he recoils from the moment.

His numbers are a far cry from those of the last few seasons, averaging just 15.5 points and nine rebounds. He shoots under 40 percent.

The rumor mill is abuzz that Giannis Antetokounmpo could be in trouble due to discontent with the Milwaukee Bucks. If true, the Bucks and Heat could make a deal that includes Adebayo. Of course, other things are needed to make this deal happen.

Perhaps now is the time for the Heat to consider this.
