Two people arrested with 3 kg of marijuana

Tirupati: Chittoor I city police on Sunday arrested two brothers, B. Madan, 26, and B. Manoj, 23, for possessing 3 kg of marijuana. The arrest was made around 11 am on the Bandapalli-Chittoor road following a tip-off.

The suspects, both daily wage earners and residents near the taluk office in Mittoor area of ​​Chittoor, were arrested with two packets of marijuana weighing 2 kg and 1 kg respectively. According to the police, the brothers had bought the contraband at a price of Rs 10,000 per kg and were selling it at Rs 25,000 per kg.

During the operation, the police seized marijuana, valued at Rs 75,000, as well as a motorcycle and two mobile phones.
