Police investigating ‘targeted incident’ as man in hospital after firearm discharge in Glasgow

Police say an incident in which a man was taken to hospital after a firearm was discharged in Glasgow was a “targeted” attack.

Officers were called to the scene at around 4pm on Friday, October 25, to reports of a weapon being fired at a property on Drumoyne Road.

A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

His injury is described as not life-threatening and he is in stable condition.

Officers said extensive investigations are underway and additional patrols remain in the area.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is no wider risk to the public.

“Officers are carrying out extensive investigations including door-to-door and CCTV work.

“Additional patrols are also being carried out.
