Video: Man points gun at California deputy after shooting in car with child inside

A Los Angeles County officer shot and wounded a suspect who allegedly fired a gun at a car with a child inside last month.

The agency released body camera footage of the Oct. 11 incident on Friday. Just after noon, officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a man and a woman fighting in a car. KABC-TV report.

When an officer arrived on scene, the man was standing outside the car with the woman. As the deputy exited his cruiser, the man pointed a gun at the deputy, who opened fire.

The suspect was rushed to hospital and is expected to survive. Two loaded handguns were recovered at the scene.

According to investigators, the suspect fired two shots during the incident, with one shot entering the vehicle the child was in. The woman and child were unharmed in the incident.

The shooting is under investigation.
