Tomah man charged in fatal crash

MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – A Tomah, Wis., man is accused in connection with a fatal crash.

Online court records show 39-year-old Kristoffer Cattle is charged with first-degree reckless homicide. homicide by operating a vehicle under the influence, injury by operating/vehicle under the influence, reckless driving – causing great bodily harm, knowingly operating while suspended (causing death), knowingly operating while suspended ( causes great bodily harm), bail jumping – misdemeanor, operating left of center (death), and operating left of center (great bodily harm).

Online court records also show an initial court appearance is scheduled for December 16, 2024.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, on November 7, 2024, a vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and struck another vehicle.

David Wilcox, 63, of Tomah was driving the vehicle that was struck. He died on the spot. A Wilcox passenger was seriously injured and flown to a hospital.

Prior to the accident, police were trying to find the vehicle crossing the other lane. It was reported that the car was driving erratically after hitting a sign in the city of Sparta. 39-year-old Kristoffer Cattle of Tomah was driving that vehicle.

Vee was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail.
