Woman from Whitley Co. is accused of drug trafficking

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A woman is facing multiple charges after the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office was called to a complaint in a business parking lot.

The complaint to the London-Laurel County 911 Communication Center reported a woman passed out in a vehicle there. When emergency responders arrived on scene, they found Lissa Bryant, 44, of Williamsburg, and noted that she appeared to be unconscious with the engine on and her foot on the accelerator with the engine running.

Officers also found a glass pipe, gabapentin, and two clear baggies containing a clear crystal substance believed to be meth.

When officers were able to wake up Bryant, they determined she was under the influence and she was wanted on outstanding warrants.

She is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree (second offense, meth), possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree (first offense), and on prescription controlled substances not in proper packaging (first offense).

She was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
