The lack of a “poisonous” feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket is a relief for players

Pokemon TCG Pocket players are thankful that the game is missing one feature that can ruin the experience and make matches feel toxic.

Compared to its Live counterpart, Pokemon TCG Pocket features a more casual and beginner-friendly gameplay for those just starting out in the scene.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t competitive aspects to it. With the Genetic Apex emblem event currently in play, outside of the regular PvP battles, the matches can get quite intense as the community has already come up with meta decks.

Although this is the case which made players feel miserablesome are actually relieved that the game doesn’t have certain features. One user in one Reddit thread claimed that they are happy that the game “does a lot of things to keep it from becoming toxic.” such as hiding the profit-and-loss ratio.

They added: “Plus, they also don’t have emotes, so people can’t abuse these for toxicity. I would like emotes though because a Pikachu emotion with a shocked face would be so sick. Many players already agreed with this approach.

“I appreciate this,” said another player. As a Hearthstone player in the past, “any kindly intended emote” could end up being “terribly misinterpreted,” making the experience unpleasant. Meanwhile, some players have also said that the same thing is happening in Marvel Snap and Clash Royale.

“I hated it when Clash Royale added emotes. Everyone just used them to BM and be toxic. It took them two years to add a switch, lol,” one of them explained.

Some players suggested that if developers were to add emotes to the game, the toggle would certainly be ideal for people who would rather not see them.

This way, players who misuse the emotes in a toxic way can be easily muted, while players who enjoy using emotes will see them in matches.
