Cyclist flown to hospital after serious accident on A2 near Barham

A cyclist was rushed to hospital during rush hour on a busy A-road last night.

The A2 at Barham was closed while police and paramedics attended the scene of the crash, which saw a car and a cyclist collide on the coastal carriageway.

The cyclist was taken to a hospital in London by air ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson added: “Kent Police were called at 6.19pm on Monday, November 11, to a collision involving a car and a cyclist on the coast lane of the A2, near Barham.

“Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene where the A2 was closed so that the air ambulance could land.

“The cyclist was taken to a London hospital where he was treated for injuries.”
