Ronnie Tudor, 19, charged after people sprayed ‘strong alkali’ in Mansion Street, Margate

A 19-year-old has been charged after a group of people on the street were sprayed with a toxic substance, leaving four people injured.

A disturbance was reported on Mansion Street, which runs between Fort Road and The Parade in Margate, shortly before 1.15am on Saturday 9 November 2024.

People were said to have been sprayed with a liquid, believed to be a strong alkali, which left two with facial injuries and another two with redness and irritation to their face or chest.

Officers attended the scene and seized a bottle believed to contain the substance used.

Ronnie Tudor, of St Luke’s Avenue, Ramsgate, was today (Tuesday) charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing a corrosive substance (ammonia) in a public place and administering a noxious object with intent to to injure or hurt.

He was due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
