Uttar Pradesh: Teenager’s hair gets tangled and scalp torn off while riding Ferris wheel in Kannauj

In a horrific accident at a local fair in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, a 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after her hair got tangled in a Ferris wheel. The incident, which took place on Saturday evening, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

The girl, identified as Anuradha, daughter of Dharmendra Katheria, was riding the Ferris wheel with friends when her hair got tangled in one of the ride’s rotating bars. The force of the machine’s rotation ripped her hair and scalp from her head, causing serious injuries.

Bystanders captured footage of her hair and scalp hanging from the Ferris wheel bar as locals helped her off the ride. Blood could be seen pouring from her head and she appeared unsteady on her feet due to the trauma in the video of the incident.

Anuradha was rushed to a nearby hospital for initial treatment before being shifted to Lucknow’s PGI Hospital due to the extent of her injuries, where she is currently undergoing intensive care.

After the accident, Anuradha’s mother filed a complaint with the police, following which authorities started an investigation. A case has been registered against the Ferris wheel operator, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. Efforts are underway to locate and hold the operator accountable.

The accident took place during an annual two-day fair in Kannauj, with several rides and stalls.
