Attention Vande Bharat passengers. If for any reason you cancel your train ticket at the last minute, Indian Railways will deduct an amount. In particular, an amount will be deducted if you cancel a ‘confirmed’, ‘RAC’ or ‘pending’ train ticket. Regardless, the deduction amount varies depending on the time the ticket is canceled. The passengers should note that the Vande Bharat Express is a medium-distance superfast express service operated by Indian Railways. It is an air-conditioned reserved seat car service that connects cities that are less than 800 km apart or take less than ten hours to travel using existing services.

These trains are self-propelled electric multiple units (EMUs) with eight or sixteen carriages. The trainset is designed and manufactured by Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.

Launched in 2018, the trainsets reached semi-high speeds of 183 km/h (114 mph) and exceeded the target test speed of 180 km/h (110 mph) during trials, but the maximum operational speed is 160 km/h . (99 km/h).

Vande Bharat Ticket Cancellation Fee: Check Details
If you cancel your ticket more than 48 hours before departure, you will be charged a fixed cancellation fee per passenger:

AC First Class/Executive Class: Rs 240

AC 2 level/first class: Rs 200

AC 3 Tier/AC Chair car/AC 3 Economy: Rs 180

Sleeper class: Rs 120

Second class: Rs 60

If you cancel your ticket only 48 to 12 hours before departure, 25% of the total price will be deducted, plus the minimum cancellation fee.

50% of the total travel price will be deducted, plus the minimum cancellation costs

E-tickets cannot be canceled, but a TDR can be submitted online

If you have an RAC ticket or a waitlisted ticket, you can cancel it up to 30 minutes before the train’s scheduled departure for a full refund, minus an administration fee.
