Police are urgently searching for two dogs they suspect were involved in the murder of a man found dead outside a house in Birmingham.

The man, aged 33, was found dead in the back garden of a house in Rubery on Wednesday.

Police said two dogs were seized, but they were looking for two other types of American bulldogs.

“The investigation into his death is continuing and our current priority is to trace the other dogs we believe may be involved,” Superintendent Sally Simpson said.

West Midlands Police were called to Hereford Close in the early hours of the morning to reports of a number of dogs on the loose.

They found the victim outside where they seized the two dogs.

An autopsy is underway to determine the man’s cause of death.

Police said they believed he was “attacked by at least one dog, which may have contributed to his death.”

The dogs, which are not considered a banned breed, are believed to have all come from the property where the man was found.

Police have released an image of one of the dogs officers are looking for.

Police said they were looking for another similar dog, described as black.

Superintendent Sally Simpson said the man’s family was being supported.

“The investigation into his death is continuing and our current priority is to locate the other dogs we believe may be involved.”
