Renewed Porsche Taycan GTS completes renewed range

The latest variants of Porsche‘has been updated Taycan have been announced, with the German company revealing all the details about the updated Porsche Taycan GTS, which is available in both sedan and Sport Turismo guises.

The GTS is usually one of the more driver-focused variants in the Porsche model range, but this is not the case with the new Taycan, where the wild TurboGT fulfills that role.

However, at a more reasonable starting price, the GTS will likely remain one of the most popular models in the lineup, thanks to a collection of unique chassis and design elements.

The GTS has the same larger battery pack of 105 kWh and two motors as a 4S with the Performance Plus battery, and generates no less than 690 hp with overboost during Launch Control. This is an increase of 100 hp compared to the previous GTS, and sits nicely between the 536 hp 4S and the 871 hp Turbo.

The performance is very impressive: from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and from 0 to 190 km/h in 10.4 seconds. These represent improvements of 0.4 and 1.6 seconds respectively.

There’s also a useful increase in range, with the GTS able to travel up to 600 kilometers combined WLTP test. This is approximately 75 miles more than before, and is achieved thanks to the larger battery and efficiency improvements to the car’s motors and software. The front motor can now also disengage in most driving situations.

However, the GTS’s main updates largely concern the chassis, as it now comes standard with a unique dual-chamber air suspension setup with Porsche’s twin valve dampers.

Customers can also opt for the smart hydraulically operated Active Ride Control system, which also features a bespoke GTS tune. Porsche Torque Vectoring is also standard, with rear-wheel steering as an option.

Visually, the GTS is equipped as standard with a Sport Design Package in gloss black, with an anthracite gray finish for the 20-inch aero wheels. Optional 21-inch wheels are also available in the same mid-gray finish. Inside, a GTS interior package can be specified, which bundles lots of Race-Tex fabric and black leather elements with contrasting red or silver stitching.

UK prices start at £117,500 for the sedan, with the Sport Turismo costing an extra £800. The first cars will arrive at customers in Britain in early 2025.
