AI Weather Report lets Pixel users prepare for the day without having to read maps, charts or tables

Wouldn’t it be great to know what the weather will be like that day without having to sort through various graphs and numbers on the weather app you’re using? If you’re using the new Weather app on the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold it and get a quick AI-generated weather summary, telling you everything you need to know about the weather conditions in your area quickly. Google even promoted the app at the “Made by Google” event that introduced the app. Pixel 9 series phones.

With the AI weather report, you will know how to prepare for the day ahead. The summary will also tell you what to expect when you go out. Think of the time you will save when you get ready in the morning, open the app and see something like “Cold and rainy day, bring your umbrella and hold your hat!” instead of checking precipitation percentages, predicted temperatures throughout the day, humidity, etc.

Of course, you have to consider the possibility that the AI is hallucinating, in which case the umbrella and raincoat you’re carrying could end up getting lost quickly when you’re out on a sunny, 27-degree day. The AI’s weather report is powered by Gemini Nano, and because it runs on the device, you don’t need an internet connection for it to work. In addition to reminding you to pack an umbrella on a day when rain is in the forecast, you’ll be asked to wear sunscreen when warm, sunny weather arrives.

If you’d rather pretend you’re a highly paid meteorologist who creates the day’s weather forecast using raw data available in your favorite weather app, you can always turn off the AI weather report by going to Saved Locations > User > AI Weather Report and press Turn off.

The Pixel Weather app is available for the new Pixel 9 and it looks like the app is coming to older Pixel models in a future release. And if older Pixel models get the Pixel Weather app, the AI Weather Report could be included as well. To reiterate, speculation is calling for both the Weather app and the AI Weather Report to be included in a future Pixel feature release. Sorry, Froggy is no longer part of the app.
