Cooler ahead of showers and thunderstorms

(KFVS)— Today’s highs will be slightly cooler, around 60 degrees north to 66 degrees south.

There is also a cool northeasterly wind with some high clouds.

Cloud cover will increase slightly during the night.

A few showers are likely on Wednesday morning, but heavier showers and possibly a thunderstorm will follow in the afternoon and early night hours.

Precipitation amounts are lighter in the west and heavier, more than an inch, in the east, such as western Kentucky, northeastern Tennessee and southeastern southern Illinois.

The rest of the week will be dry after the system leaves the Heartland.

Afternoon temperatures will increase during the weekend.

There is a chance of showers during the night from Sunday to Monday.
