Driver probably asleep in car in the middle of a provincial road

The provincial police were called about a stopped vehicle in the middle of the road.

OPP arrived on County Road in Essa Township at 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning and located a vehicle parked in a roadway.

According to police, the driver was sleeping behind the wheel.

Police woke him up and charged him with driving under the influence – including having open liquor readily available – and suspended his driver’s license for 90 days and impounded his car for a week.

The 42-year-old Barrie man has a court hearing on Nov. 28 in Bradford.
