THE ACOLYTE Star Lee Jung-jae Breaks Silence on Series Cancellation, Saying He Was “Quite Surprised” — GeekTyrant

Star Wars: The Acolyte star Lee Jung-jaewho played Master Sol in the series, recently spoke about the show’s recent cancellation after one season.

While some Star Wars fans saw the cancellation coming, Jung-jae was “personally very surprised” and disappointed when he heard the news.

In an interview with EW, Lee said, “As you know, my character was already dead in the first season. So I wouldn’t have appeared in the second season if there was one anyway.”

“But personally, I really liked Leslye’s (Headland) writing. I thought she was an excellent writer and director, very talented in storytelling, as well as creating characters and meaningful structures within the story.

“So I was really looking forward to seeing a season 2 with her at the helm.”

The actor then explains that he is not giving up hope for a season 2: “Honestly, I hope that maybe there will be some changes in the future, because you never know what’s going to happen. So, on a personal level, I really hope that we get to see more stories from Leslye’s second season.”

Fans of the series are not giving up hope either, as they recently launched a “Save The Acolyte” campaign to try to convince Disney to change its mind about the cancellation.

Chances are, if the story continues in some way, it will probably be in comic book form. We’ll have to wait and see.
