Aam Aadmi Party announces first list of seven candidates – India TV

The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday (August 25) announced its first list of seven candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

When will JK vote?

The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1, with the results announced on October 4. The counting of votes will take place on October 4 and the entire election process will be concluded on October 6.

Jammu and Kashmir has been without an elected government since June 2018, when the BJP pulled out of the PDP-BJP coalition government led by Mehbooba Mufti. The state came under governor’s control and the then governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the assembly.

On 5 August 2019, Article 370 was abrogated and JK was divided into two Union Territories, JK and Ladakh.
