JD Vance Comments on RFK Jr.’s Support on ‘Meet the Press’

Just days after Robert Kennedy Jr. spoke out in support of Donald Trump at a rally in Glendale, Arizona – sparking a plethora of online chatter and memes about Vance now more of a No. 3 than a No. 2 in Trump’s eyes — Vance commented on Kennedy’s newfound attachment to the campaign during an appearance on “Meet the Press.”

When asked by host Kristen Welker if he had any hesitation about accepting Kennedy’s endorsement, Vance replied, “No,” but followed up with what might indicate otherwise.

“We’re not all going to agree on some things,” Vance said. “There are things that Robert Kennedy said that I don’t agree with. I’m sure there are things that I said that he won’t agree with. But I think his endorsement shows that Donald J. Trump’s Republican Party is a great campaign party… What RFK’s endorsement really shows is that Kennedy Democrats are actually more comfortable in Donald Trump’s Republican Party.”

On the latter point, it is worth noting that after Kennedy endorsed Trump, a large majority of his family members—including his cousin, Jack Schlossberg—made almost immediate statements expressing disappointment in him for aligning himself with Team MAGA, calling it a “betrayal.”

Moving away from the subject of Kennedy, Vance was keen to emphasize something he shares with him, namely the belief that many safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic were “crazy.”
