Star Wars Actor Supports Amandla Stenberg After The Acolyte Cancellation

The fallout from the cancellation of The Acolyte has been chaotic to say the least. Despite opening her heart on Instagram, Amandla Stenberg continues to receive hate online, but a Star Wars The actress is doing everything she can to prove that she still has people on her side.

Ahmed Best took to his own Instagram following Stenberg’s statement, posting an image of The Acolyte along with a message for his star. “I will always stand with artists who give 110% to their work and their art,” he said. “Keep shining, queen.”

The fact that Best is one of the first to speak out shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. After all, he’s already been open about the issues he faced after doing the motion capture for Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy. Fans have a hard time separating the actor from the character, which is why Best has received a lot of hate for helping bring one of the most controversial characters in the Skywalker saga to life.

However, the good people at Lucasfilm are giving Best another chance, casting him as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq in both films. Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge And The MandalorianUnfortunately, it may be some time before Stenberg gets another chance – if she ever gets one.

If The AcolyteWith Disney’s numbers being as bad as the reports claim, canceling the show may have been the right business decision for Disney. But canceling the show and then leaving its stars to fend for themselves is another matter entirely. Stenberg has to fight the negativity without the help of the studio that greenlit the show, so it’s up to people like Best to explain that no matter how something is received, the actors don’t deserve to be attacked.
