SHIP U. Baseball Team Announces 2024-25 Recruiting Class

Shippensburg University baseball head coach Matt Jones has successfully recruited eleven student-athletes for the upcoming academic year, enhancing the university’s Raiders baseball program. The athletes, who hail from five states, are expected to join the team in the fall of 2023 and compete in the spring of 2025. The group includes six recruits from Pennsylvania, two from Virginia, and one each from New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

The new recruits fill a variety of positions on the team, including four pitchers, three outfielders, three catchers and one infielder. Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Sean Williamson expressed his enthusiasm for the skills and potential of the new class, anticipating their significant contributions to the team’s future success.

The recruited student-athletes are:

  • Kyle Ausgotharp, Virginia outfielder, student and high-level athlete at Freedom High School.
  • Drew Brown, an all-around player from Pennsylvania who excelled in both baseball and wrestling.
  • Thomas Cano-Piszel, an outfielder from Pennsylvania known for his excellent performances during his junior season.
  • Thomas Davenport, a well-respected pitcher from Pennsylvania with accomplishments in both baseball and golf.
  • Jacob Dennis, another Pennsylvania pitcher, was recognized for his impressive statistics his senior year.
  • Mason Morris, a Delaware wide receiver with a strong academic and athletic background.
  • Will Oates, a Maryland wide receiver celebrated for his many athletic achievements.
  • Jack Robinson, a pitcher from Virginia with college playing experience at Roanoke College.
  • Evan Shoffler, an infielder from New Jersey known for his athletic and academic excellence.
  • Cole Snyder, a pitcher from Pennsylvania with notable performances in high school and club.
  • Andrew Weinrich, an outfielder from Pennsylvania with experience at Georgia Southern and significant accomplishments in high school.

This diverse and talented group is expected to make significant contributions to the Shippensburg University baseball program.
