Littering Incidents Lead to Bellevue Police Investigation, Multiple Arrests

An incident involving trash being thrown at a Taco Bell in Bellevue led police to arrest and charge family members with multiple crimes in August.

On August 10, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Bellevue officers were dispatched to a report of an alleged assault at the Factoria Taco Bell in the 3500 block of Factoria Boulevard Southeast.

According to police reports, a security guard stopped an 18-year-old for littering. The teen then threatened the security guard with a gun before fleeing.

The security guard shared the teen’s license plate number with police and authorities developed probable cause for an arrest.

Members of the Bellevue Special Operations Group and Bellevue SWAT executed a search warrant for the arrest on Aug. 15 around 6 a.m. in the 2600 block of Northeast 10th Street in Renton.

The home was the teen’s residence where he lived with his mother, with his mother’s boyfriend also present at the time of the search. When authorities entered the residence, they found a bulletproof vest, a semi-automatic pistol and a stolen AK-47 assault rifle. They also found credit and debit cards, passports and personal documents that they believe were stolen.

Police said the items were stolen during burglaries in Bellevue, Newcastle and Kirkland.

On Aug. 13, during a burglary in Bellevue, police said the mother and her boyfriend stole jewelry, debit and credit cards, cash, identification documents and vehicle key fobs from a home.

On August 23, police arrested the mother and a few days later her boyfriend. Through their investigation, the police were able to link the mother and her boyfriend to several burglaries.
