Finnish language courses will be offered at the Finnish Centre in Saima Park

FITCHBURG — The fall session of Finnish language courses will run for ten weeks, from Monday, September 16 to Monday, November 18, at the Saima Park Finnish Centre, located at 67 Scott Road.

“Although the Finnish language is unique and challenging, I will make sure my students have fun while learning,” said instructor Saija Laurla.

Classes for beginners and advanced students are offered, and Laurla is able to individualize different abilities within both levels.

Beginning students will meet from 18:15 to 20:15 and advanced students from 16:00 to 18:00. Beginning students will use the textbook Suomen Mestari 1, by Sonja Gehring and Sanni Heinzmann; advanced students will use Suomen Mestari 2.

The books are available on Ruslania.com or Amazon.com.

Tuition for the 10-week course is $75 for Saima Park Finnish Centre members and $80 for non-members. Students under 18 pay half price.
