The Lake George school board is meeting after students were accused of sexual misconduct

The Lake George Central School District will hold a school board meeting Tuesday evening, the first since two students were charged in a sexual misconduct investigation.

Last week, two students, whose identities have not been publicly released, were charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charged students were 18 and 17 years old at the time of the incident.

The incident, which investigators described as “crimes against a child,” happened Aug. 31 on a district bus as students from the Wolverines varsity football team were returning from an event in Syracuse.

In response, district leaders decided to cancel the remainder of the varsity team’s football season.

The team was undefeated and ranked first statewide in Class D before the season was cut short.

“During the spring sports season, we will hold additional meetings with coaches and student-athletes to review our athletic code of conduct and to review and discuss athletic expectations,” Lake George Superintendent said during Tuesday’s meeting.

CBS6’s Briana Supardi will be at the meeting and will provide updates at 10 p.m.
