Bad Bunny will join the star-studded cast of the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore sequel.

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican rapper has landed a role in the upcoming film, which Netflix announced was in the works earlier this year, alongside its original stars Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, according to THR.

Although he is best known as a chart-topping artist with a global following, the musician has previously had roles in films such as Bullet Train (2022), My Spy (2020), and F9: The Fast Saga (2021).

The three-time Grammy winnerwho triggered reconciliation rumors with Kendall Jenner earlier this year, also appeared in the third and final season of Narcos: Mexico as Everardo Arturo “Kitty” Paez.

Additionally, outside of the entertainment world, the performer has also made appearances on WWE programming and made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37.

In addition to the I Like It hitmaker landing a role in the sequel to the legendary 1996 sports comedy, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is also set to make an appearance.

Last month, reports emerged that Kelce, 34, was speaking with Sandler weekly about his involvement in Happy Gilmore 2.

While it’s not yet clear what role he’ll play, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has now landed his first major Hollywood gig after deciding to become a star beyond football.

Sandler revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon that filming is expected to begin in the coming weeks, and Kelce is already sounding him out about his role in the film.

According to the US Sun, he has been in weekly contact with the movie icon about Happy Gilmore 2 since they went to dinner together to discuss it earlier this month.

“Travis couldn’t believe it, it was like a dream come true for him because Adam Sandler is one of his idols, a big name in the movie business and he loves his movies,” a source reportedly said.

“So this is a perfect opportunity for him to work with one of his favorite directors.”

Kelce is reportedly “excited” about starring in the sequel and is taking the opportunity “very seriously” as he ventures into Hollywood for the very first time.

His role is believed to have been in the works for months and he has since formed a strong relationship with Sandler.

“They’ve been talking to Sandler about it almost every week since about the end of June,” the source continued. “They get along really well, they’re both very easy-going, relaxed guys and they love to laugh a lot, so they’re a perfect match.”

As one of his idols, Travis believes working with Adam will give him invaluable experience in the film industry as well as its business side.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Kelce had ambitions to become a household name of the same stature as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with his PR team hatching a calculated plan to make him a Hollywood star.

The NFL legend hopes his role in Happy Gilmore 2 will provide him with a springboard to more opportunities in the film industry in the future, meaning he’s desperate to make it a success.

On a recent episode of his and his brother Jason’s podcast New Heights, Kelce spoke about his desire to appear in the sequel as a huge fan of the first film — in which Sandler’s fictional hockey player character becomes an unexpected superstar after switching to golf.

“Dude, I didn’t even know there was a job opening. I’d work overtime, anything to get around Happy Gilmore, a movie, or an Adam Sandler set – count me in.
