Brother accused of shooting and killing brother in Polk Co.

DALLAS Ore. (KPTV) – A Dallas man was arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting and killing his brother.

Alonzo Rowell, 51, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

Rowell allegedly shot and killed his 54-year-old brother Tony Miller at one of their homes before driving to the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, Rowell’s former workplace, according to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office.

He then reportedly had a brief standoff with the Salem Police SWAT team before being arrested.

Rowell was arraigned Tuesday and denied bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 19.
