While 3D-printed gun technology is not new, the FGC-9 has quickly become one of the most common models, appearing in at least 15 countries. Its accessibility and simplicity of design make it a favorite of right-wing extremists and criminal organizations.

In the UK, simply possessing the FGC-9 instruction manual is considered a terrorist offence, underlining the perceived threat posed by these weapons.
