Auburn softball team announces 2025 SEC schedule

The 2025 SEC softball schedule has been set for first-year co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux, the league office released Wednesday.

It’s a new era on the Plains, and the schedule figures to be tough as Auburn will face four of the top 10 teams in last season’s final Top 25 poll, according to D1Softball.

The Tigers open their conference season with a trip to Starkville to face Mississippi State from March 7-9, marking the first of eight conference weekends. Auburn then returns to Jane B. Moore Field for its SEC home opener against the Texas A&M Aggies from March 14-16.

The next two weekends of SEC action feature some of the top programs in the country. Auburn will travel to Austin, Texas, for a rare matchup between the Tigers and new conference foe Texas, marking just the third time these teams have met, with previous meetings coming in 2012 and 2022.

A week later, the Tigers will host Florida in a battle of orange and blue from March 28-30. The Longhorns and Gators both appeared in the Women’s College World Series last season, with Texas advancing to the final before ultimately being defeated by Oklahoma.

The second half of the SEC schedule will begin at Kentucky from April 4-6 before returning to Auburn to face the Georgia Bulldogs the following weekend. The Tigers then prepare for a tough road test against Tennessee from April 18-20 in Knoxville, a team that has proven to be one of the best teams in the SEC in recent history. The Lady Volunteers have won the SEC regular season title the last two years.

Auburn hosts South Carolina April 25-27 to conclude the regular season before traveling to Athens, Ga., for the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament, scheduled for May 6-10.

Information such as television listings, game times and other details are expected to be announced at a later date. Auburn’s non-conference schedule will also be released in the near future.
