Auburn man convicted of armed robbery and assault

An Auburn man has been sentenced to six years in prison after admitting to a violent robbery in Cayuga County.

Darryl Jones, 59, was sentenced Tuesday on multiple felonies, including criminal possession of a weapon, assault and first-degree robbery.

His sentence includes five years of post-release supervision.

The incident occurred in August 2023 when Jones and co-defendant, Michael Barski, attacked a visitor at an Orchard Street apartment. He held a gun to the victim’s head and demanded cash and a cell phone. Barski held the victim in a headlock while Jones attacked them with a metal baton.
