Susanna Reid shocked as Birds Of A Feather star Lesley Joseph reveals her age on GMB and says ‘you look 25 years younger’

SUSANNA Reid was left stunned when Birds Of A Feather actress Lesley Joseph revealed her real age on Good Morning Britain.

The fencer was delighted Susanna53, and ITV co-host Richard Madeley68, with stories about her career and upcoming projects as she sat on the show bench Wednesday.

Lesley insisted “I’m really not ready to retire” after the trio reminisced during the commercial break.

She joked, “I should be my age,” prompting the former This morning Richard anchor to ask: “What is your age?”

Lesley made a funny noise and said, ‘You used to be unable to tell your age because no one could find out, but next year I’ll be 80.

“Can you even believe it?”

Richard clapped his hands, causing Susanna to shout a shocked ‘ooh’ before saying: ‘No!

“You look 25 years younger!”

Lesley joked: “I thought you were going to say 25 years older, I was about to say!” before Susanna simply said: ‘You look 25.

“You look fantastic, but that’s great.”

Susanna then asked if Lesley’s healthy lifestyle was the reason for her youthful appearance – and also the fact that she still works.

She agreed, saying, “I walk everywhere – I walk at least two miles a day.”

In the same chat, Lesley also gave her blunt assessment of the potential of a Birds Of A Feather reboot.

Originally on BBC One from 1989 to 1998, the show starred Pauline QuirkeLesley and Linda Robson as the main characters.

After 16 years, ITV revived the show and further episodes aired from 2014 to 2020.

Reports that the show was axed by ITV in 2021 emerged – following claims of a clash between show stars Linda and Pauline.

The comedy once attracted 15 million viewers a week.

Previously, there were claims that their relationship had broken down after an alleged breakdown on set at the Teddington studios.

It said the line was up why Pauline refused to participate in the 30th anniversary show in 2019 and the Christmas special a year later, yet Linda refutes this.

Now Lesley, who played bratty Dorien Green, has addressed the speculation about a revival.

When Richard asked if it would come back, she said, “No, it’s not a no.

“Pauline loves her theater school and she has given up acting.

“No, I don’t think so.”

Lesley went on to talk about how she and Linda had worked together on Coach Trip and softer reality shows.

Previously, TV legend Lesley admitted that she has developed insecurities about her age.

She told De Spiegel: “The older I get, the more afraid I become of forgetting my lines and making a fool of myself in front of an audience.

“I think I know when the time is right to retire, but it’s not today.”
