Steve Carlson Hosts Exclusive Meet and Greet at Third Base Bar

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A sports celebrity stopped by Third Base Bar in Marquette before the United Way of Marquette County Hockey Night on Friday.

Steve Carlson of the infamous Slap Shot Hanson Brothers and his wife arranged a meet-up at the bar on Friday morning.

Carlson will also play in the charity game against the Red Wings alumni team.

A former Marquette Iron Rangers player and retired NHL forward, Carlson says it’s still amazing how much the city has grown.

“The places I’ve lived, the places I’ve played and the old neighborhoods like Lakeview Arena where I played my first game,” Carlson said. “Coming back here is very exciting and brings back great memories.”

Carlson played 66 games for Marquette, scoring 34 goals and 53 assists for 87 points in his lone season with the Iron Rangers.

He also says he’s looking forward to getting on the ice and having fun.
