Saramonic Unveils New WiTalk9 Intercom Headset System at IBC 2024

Saramonic launched its next-generation intercom headset system at IBC 2024. The WiTalk 9 series is designed to meet the communication needs of teams and uses Saramonic’s ClearTalk noise-canceling technology. Dual antennas to transmit full-duplex voice calls within the team over long distances. It also supports hands-free multi-person operation without the need for a hub. The WiTalk9 is intended for film crews, large events and emergency situations.

With its dual antennas, the WiTalk9 series has a range of up to 500 meters, allowing team members to reach each other with less interference from other radio signals like 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Saramonic’s ClearTalk technology is built around a three-microphone array that uses a noise-canceling algorithm that filters out background and wind noise.

With high volume, the system aims to provide clear conversations even in situations where the sound pressure level reaches levels as high as 130 dB. The WiTalk9 series also connects to smartphones or computers via cables or wirelessly for cross-site communication via online means, breaking geographical restrictions when conversing with teams around the world.

Unlike traditional intercom systems and walkie-talkies, the Saramonic WiTalk9 headset is hands-free. The headset controls require only one hand. Turn the knob to adjust the volume or press it to activate Broadcast or PTT mode. Raise the boom to mute and lower it to resume talking. The Saramonic app also provides access to features such as adaptive frequency hopping, using large icons to make the system easier and faster to use.

Designed for medium to large teams, the WiTalk9 intercom system enables full-duplex, multi-person communications without the need for a hub. Up to nine users can be connected directly for easy setup without the hassle of cables. With wired cascading, four systems can be connected to support up to 30 users at once.

The WiTalk9 SE version is aimed at small teams and can support up to five people in a single full-duplex system and up to nine people with two systems connected in wired cascade.

The lightweight design of the WiTalk 9 series means the headset is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The adjustable headband is wrapped in lambskin to ensure a snug fit that won’t cut into the scalp. The aircraft-grade cooling gel ear cushions provide noise isolation as well as protection against ear cooling and sweat. The replaceable temple pad is made of protein leather for long-term use, while the PC+30GF frame is durable and wear-resistant. With an IPX5 rating, the WiTalk 9 can be used in wind and rain.

You can test the new WiTalk 9 Series intercom system by visiting Saramonic at IBC 2024 from September 13-16.
