If these claims are confirmed in the future, this wouldn’t be Reynolds’ first contribution to his wife’s 2024 film, which would even clash with his own R-rated MCU debut. Deadpool and Wolverine. It Ends With Us fever dominates the box office

The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s controversial novel has become Lively’s most commercially successful film to date. While the film did everything it could to refocus the theme on a woman getting her life back on track after breaking up with an abusive marriage, its promotion completely lost its way and attracted massive attention for all the wrong reasons.

Whether it’s the plot, the casting, or the speculative narrative surrounding the film’s promotions and the supposedly inflammatory standoff between Lively and Baldoni, It ends with us has undoubtedly made global box office history. According to the latest figures from The Hollywood Reporter at the time of writing, Lively’s film has grossed over $309 million worldwide. To get an idea of how profitable those numbers are, consider that Sony’s stunning hit was produced on a reported budget of $25 million.

Sony Pictures on Blake Lively’s side

There have been many positive and negative articles supporting or targeting Blake and Justin, respectively. However, Sony has finally taken rare action by officially coming to the lead actress’s aid after fans accused her of conducting “tone-deaf” promotions for a film that deals with such heavy and shocking themes.

“Blake, Colleen and so many other women put so much effort into this remarkable film, working tirelessly from the beginning to ensure that such an important subject was handled with care. Audiences love the film. Blake’s passion and commitment to advancing the conversation on domestic violence is commendable,” Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra told THR in August. “We love working with Blake and want to make 12 more films with her.”

While those seemingly favorable remarks toward Blake likely sealed a rewarding deal for her future with Sony Pictures, her husband is reportedly willing to go the extra mile to buy Baldoni out of the potential sequel.

Are we talking about the sequel to It Ends With Us yet?

“I think there are people more qualified for the role,” he said at the film’s New York premiere on August 6. Rather than confirm his status in the franchise, Baldoni refocused the attention on Lively. “I think Blake Lively is ready to direct, that’s what I think,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

At the event, Lively, Hoover and other cast members visibly distanced themselves from Baldoni. The film’s leads were not even photographed together during the press tour that followed.
