Government House and Mon Ethos owner in dispute over contract cancellation and unpaid bills | News

Government House communications director Richard Motta Jr. said Monday it would be “reckless” for the government to continue working with cybersecurity contractor Mon Ethos Pro Support after the company’s founder, David Whitaker, pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud and bribery charges Thursday.

“The government canceled a contract with an individual who openly admitted and pleaded guilty to defrauding the government of the Virgin Islands,” Motta said at the weekly news conference. “I think it would have been imprudent for the government of the Virgin Islands to continue doing business with this entity, given what has been revealed.”
