Woman’s body found on roadside in Kamulu region

Police are investigating an incident in which a 23-year-old woman was found dead after being raped and murdered in Kamulu, Nairobi.

The body was discovered near a local bridge in the Riverside neighborhood.

Police said she was half-naked and lying in the vegetation near the Kamulu River.

Police officers attended the scene and discovered the body of a woman who worked as a casual labourer in the Kamulu area. Neighbours said she was last seen leaving her house around 10pm on Monday.

During the observation, signs of rape and strangulation were observed, police said.

The body was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary pending autopsy. In Majengo, Nairobi, one Johnson Wandeka Digo, 40, who was assaulted last Thursday, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police arrived at the scene and found that the body had a visible stab wound to the abdomen.

The suspect, a 28-year-old woman, was located and arrested.

Elsewhere, a human body was found along the bank of the Nairobi River.

The body of a street boy showed no visible injuries and was taken to the city morgue.

In Kibugu, Embu County, the body of John Njagi Alexander, 58, was found lying in Thunguri village, Gicherori locality, Nyayo tea zone.

Police attended the scene and found that the body had been struck in the face with a blunt object, causing serious injuries.

The body was transferred to the Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.

No arrests have been made in connection with Monday’s incident, police said.
