After Anna Delvey's lawyer demanded The View hosts apologize to the DWTS contestant on air, he later released a statement about the televised incident

The show has hosted political figures who have inflamed some, but one of the dancers on the new season, Anna Delvey, has not only caused a stir, but also led to lawyers stepping in to set things right.

Anna Delvey was convicted of grand larceny in 2019 after posing as a wealthy German heiress to defraud individuals and businesses. Her story became widely known thanks to the Netflix series Inventing Anna. The fact that Delvey was going to appear on Dancing with the Stars has become a recent topic of conversation on The view because some guests were not happy.

Several of The view‘s hosts have criticised the decision to bring Anna Delvey into Dancing with the Stars Due to her criminal history, Delvey has been under house arrest since her release from prison, as the Russian-born woman violated her visa. She needed special permission from ICE to be able to appear on the show.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg also suggested that Delvey hadn’t fully paid her debts and still owed money to the victims of her fraud. However, it turns out that’s not necessarily the case. Delvey has reportedly paid the restitution she was ordered to pay, including using the $320,000 Netflix paid her for the rights to her story to cover her many debts.

It appears that Delvey’s lawyer was in contact with the show some time after the initial statements. This resulted in The view co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffith reading a statement on the show’s Sept. 16 episode that pointed to the attorney’s claims that all debts had been paid.
