Zara Tindall, who recently came sixth in the most popular royal polls, conducted by YouGov could be considered for a more important role in the enterprise by King Charles III.

Zara and Mike Tindall attended Christmas Day service at Sandringham Church with the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, and their closeness at the event has led to suggestions they are moving closer to the royal family.

Talk to ENDavid Cameron’s former Downing Street press director Giles Kenningham noted: “The big question for Buckingham Palace is always one of relevance and whether the Royal Family is seen as something that is endearing and whether people feel able to engage with them.”

He went on to explain: “The Tindalls are very successful at that level – they’ve had their own careers, they’re financially independent and they behave well. You certainly don’t see them staggering out of bars.”

“It’s really the future of the royal family that’s at stake. There are objectively very few members of the royal family who are engaging and who lead normal lives in the way that the Tindalls do,” Giles noted.

He added: “But at the same time, they have been very good at leading private lives away from most of the scrutiny that comes with royal work. The question is, would they be willing or able to make that kind of sacrifice?”

The update comes after King Charles and Prince William publicly wished Prince Harry a happy 40th birthday on their respective social media accounts on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
