Yamaha R15M and MT-15 get new Monster Energy MotoGP editions

Yamaha R15M and MT-15 get new Monster Energy MotoGP editions

Yamaha Motor India kicks off the festive season in India with two exclusive models: the MotoGP Editions of the R15M and the MT-15 Version 2.0. These limited editions are part of the company’s ‘The Call of the Blue’ campaign. Both the models are available at all Blue Square showrooms across the country.

The 2024 MotoGP R15M Edition is priced at Rs 1,98,800. The MotoGP MT-15 V2 Edition is available at Rs 1,73,400 (both ex-showroom), which is Rs 700 more than before. Capturing the essence of Yamaha’s racing heritage, these MotoGP-inspired models sport a special livery even though they don’t get any mechanical changes.

Yamaha R15M and MT-15 – New MotoGP Editions

The recently unveiled Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition R15M and MT-15 Version 2.0 feature a MotoGP-inspired livery. They benefit from special racing accents on the tank fairings, fuel tank and side panels. Aside from these updates, both bikes are similar in all other respects to the current models, which are currently on sale.

The features list includes Bluetooth connectivity, a colour TFT instrument cluster, inverted forks, assist slipper clutch, traction control, variable valve actuation and inverted forks. The R15M gets a quick shifter, turn-by-turn navigation, music and volume control, an upgraded switchgear system and LED number plate illumination.

The MotoGP MT15 Version 2.0, being a more road-focused bike, does not have track-specific features such as the Quick Shifter. The R15M, on the other hand, is designed for track use. It therefore benefits from a few track-specific features, among which is the Linked monocross suspension.

Engine specifications

Engine specifications remain unchanged on the Yamaha MotoGP Edition of the R15M and MT-15 Version 2.0. They draw power from a 155cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 18.1hp and 14.2Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS is fitted as standard.

Earlier this month, Yamaha also introduced the 2024 Yamaha R15M Carbon Fiber Pattern Graphic. It is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-sh) and comes with several feature updates. These include carbon fiber pattern graphics, turn-by-turn navigation, music and volume control, and an LED number plate. These features are offered on both the new Carbon Fiber Pattern variant and the Metallic Grey model.

With the launch of the carbon fibre R15M, along with the new MotoGP edition of the R15M and the MT-15 version 2.0, the company is looking to capitalise on the festive season. These special edition models are designed to attract the attention of a younger and more adventurous group of buyers in the country. The improved sales will further strengthen the company’s position in its segment.
