Governor Kathy Hochul announces new resources to help New Yorkers find careers in public service.

Thousands of job openings are available now.

The New York State Department of Public Service is partnering with the Department of Labor to showcase some of the openings at career centers across the state.

The governor said one of her priorities is to support the state’s existing workforce and strengthen their ranks.

State lawmakers are pleased with the move.

“Whether it’s helping someone navigate the unemployment system or other benefits they may be eligible for, these are tasks that really have value on a day-to-day basis. My office speaks to one of the state agencies,” said Rep. Pat Fahy.

The Albany Government Career Center is one of 10 locations across New York State where staff work together to provide support to job seekers.
