Abhi Sainju, the chef behind Abhi Eatery + Bar and Maro, is opening his third Mountain Brook restaurant on September 19.

Named Surf Hound, the restaurant draws inspiration from 1960s-70s surf culture and coastal towns around the world for its cuisine and ambiance. The new restaurant is located in the heart of Mountain Brook Village at 2721 Cahaba Road.

“The beach is a happy place for many of us, myself included, and we all become the most relaxed version of ourselves. With Surf Hound, I wanted to celebrate those nostalgic memories and emulate that same environment, but with an enhanced version of the coastal cuisine we all know and love.”

The interior has a beachy feel with surfboards hanging on the walls.

Discover the menu:

  • Fresh oysters
  • Fish Tacos
  • Grouper sandwich.
  • Burgers ranging from beef and bison patties to turkey patties marinated for 24 hours to maximize flavor.
  • Octo Reef Salad with Tender Octopus
  • Cry Cry Cry, a spicy Wagyu fillet that is Sainju’s take on a popular Asian dish

In addition to meals, Surf Hound serves a wide variety of desserts and cocktails.
