Denver Central Library Closed Until November for Renovations

The Denver Public Library’s Central Branch is closed through November for renovations, though curbside pickup and remote services are still available, library officials said Thursday.

Construction crews have already completed improvements to the programming space, bathrooms, children’s library, meeting rooms, elevators and Schelessman Hall.

Current projects include completing deferred maintenance work and relocating some library services, library officials said.

The renovations to the central library and 10 other branches are being funded by the 2017 Elevate Denver bond, when voters approved nearly $1 billion for roads, parks, municipal buildings, health and cultural facilities. Denver libraries received $69.3 million through the measure.

The Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library and the Ross-Broadway Branch Library are still open, and the Central Branch will hold a grand reopening on November 3.
