Why are you running for Galveston County Sheriff?

To bring about immediate change, crime must be reduced through proactive policing and increased patrols. Drug interdiction on the streets, aggressive recruitment (and) retention, accountability and fair and equitable promotion processes. Eliminating the “good old boy” system.

If elected, what would be your main priorities during the next term?

Once elected, my top priorities will be reducing gang-related shootings and other violent crimes related to the drug trade from the southern border. Prostitution, burglaries, robberies and nuisance problems in our unincorporated parts of the county.

What will you bring to this office in terms of qualifications or perspective?

As a former police chief and elected police officer, I have the leadership abilities, expertise and management skills to lead the Sheriff’s Office to a higher level of professional standards and national accreditation. As Sheriff, I will make our office the premier law enforcement agency in the region.

Why are you running for Galveston County Sheriff?

I seek to become Sheriff to build community trust, improve public safety, and promote transparency in law enforcement. My goal is to foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and citizens, ensuring a fair, responsible, and bipartisan approach to keeping Galveston County safe for all residents.

If elected, what would be your main priorities during the next term?

My priorities are to improve public safety, enhance community engagement, modernize law enforcement with better training and de-escalation technology, and support officer wellness. I will work across partisan lines to address issues like mental health and substance abuse, focusing on solutions that reduce crime and ensure a safer, more united Galveston County.

What will you bring to this office in terms of qualifications or perspective?

I bring over two decades of law enforcement experience to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, including juvenile investigations, patrol, school resources, courthouse security, and corrections. My deep understanding of community-oriented policing, combined with leadership roles, ensures a balanced, experienced, and compassionate approach to public safety.
