Chelsea are still without a recognised right-back when they face West Ham United this weekend.

Chelsea have welcomed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Enzo Fernandez, Malo Gusto and Romeo Lavia back to training this week.

Gusto suffered a thigh injury in the draw against Crystal Palace before the international break with Axel Disasi replacing at right-back against Bournemouth.

It was hoped he would be available for the trip to east London with Reece James still not ready to return to the squad.

But Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that Gusto and James would not be available. Disasi could continue to play at right-back in their absence.

James, meanwhile, has not played this season due to a hamstring injury and a suspension carried over from last season. While this issue is not considered a new problem, his lingering hamstring issue is taking longer to heal than initially thought.

Romeo Lavia is also still unavailable from today’s trip through the capital.

Returning to London on loan from Manchester United, Jadon Sancho came on as a substitute and provided the assist for Christopher Nkunku’s winning goal at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Sancho caused plenty of problems down the left after coming on for Pedro Neto in the second half at the Vitality Stadium and will hope his performance will earn him a place in the east London starting XI.

Joao Felix is still waiting for his first start since returning to London. The Portugal international provided an assist on his debut in the 6-2 win over Wolves, making do with substitute appearances against Palace and Bournemouth.
