The 4 best headphones for sports in 2024

The 4 best headphones for sports in 2024

Check out our full review of the Beats Fit Pro.

Who is it for:

The Beats Fit Pro headphones meet the expectations of most athletes. These small earbuds fit comfortably in the ears, and three different sizes of ear tips create a comfortable and secure fit. With active noise cancellation, the headphones block out noise so you can focus on your workout. However, there is still some noise leakage, which is not a bad thing if you need to stay aware of your surroundings for safety reasons.

These are dream headphones if you’re looking for touch controls. Of all the headphones I tested, the Beats Fit Pro had the most responsive touch controls, making it easy to take calls or play/pause music. Although they’re built into the iOS system, the Beats headphones work equally well for iPhone and Android users with easy connectivity.

Why we love it:

I had never used Beats headphones before testing the Fit Pro earbuds, but I was quickly impressed. Nothing beats the fast connectivity. As an iOS user, I just had to open the case and the Beats Fit Pro connected almost instantly. The earbuds can be difficult for me to adjust, so I appreciated the different sized eartips that created the most secure fit.

It took me a second to get used to the Beats Fit Pro, but the winged-tip design kept them securely in my ear during my workouts. They can still fall out, especially if you bend over, but they’re much more secure than traditional earbuds.

What I really liked about this design was the touch controls. While most earbuds don’t have actual buttons to use touch controls, these do, making it a breeze to take calls. However, it does make ending calls a little too easy: I accidentally ended a call or two while using these earbuds. Ultimately, the excellent touch controls and secure fit propelled them to the top of our list.

The sound quality of the Beats Fit Pro is excellent. The active noise cancellation did a good job of blocking out the noise around me, allowing me to listen to my podcast while I worked out. I found that the ANC got a little buzzy around loud noises as it worked harder to block them out, and ultimately, I found it a little distracting. With an IPX4 rating, they’re water-resistant, so I can rest assured that my sweat or a sudden rain shower won’t do them any harm.
