Empty gas cylinder found on railway tracks near Lucknow: second incident this month

An empty gas cylinder was found on the railway tracks by the driver of a goods train near Prempur railway station in Lucknow on Sunday. This incident is the second such incident in the state this month.

According to police, the incident took place around 8:10 am when the train was travelling from Kanpur to Allahabad. The empty five-litre bottle was later removed from the tracks and the matter is currently under investigation.

In a similar case earlier this month, on September 8, an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express by placing an LPG cylinder on the tracks. The train hit the cylinder before stopping, causing the cylinder to fly off the tracks.
